
Zero Waste Quilting brings us back to the essence of quilting by urging mindfulness in our consumption and usage habits. Reflecting the American tradition of creating quilts from leftover scraps, this approach champions textile sustainability while staying true to the authentic spirit of quilt making. Challenging ourselves to create within constraints brings to life the symbiotic relationship between our creativity and the constraints.
Currently quilters’ options for sustainability lie in a limited amount of organic goods or with up-cycled materials. The Zero Waste Quilting approach bridges the gap for quilters and textile consumption by finding a place to use new materials and encourages that every bit is used.
We’ll chat about intentional fabric buying, using what you have, augmenting as needed, and minimizing waste. Students will learn how they can embrace purposeful design and create a curated collection of beautiful projects.

What to Expect During the Trunk Show
During this trunk show, I’ll share all the projects in my book, Zero Waste Quilting. I’ll discuss the inspiration behind the book, and talk about the evolution of each project.
The trunk show will consist of 4 main quilts, and 34 additional projects. Lecture time lasts about an hour.
