I can’t wait to meet you!

Misunderstood Quilt

This quilt began without a plan. I knew I wanted a blue and white quilt with movement, with wave, but I didn’t know where the final quilt would land….so I started to cut triangles and ended up with Misunderstood.

Behind the Scenes

My parents live in the North Georgia mountains. When I took photos of the quilts in Zero Waste Quilting I knew I wanted photos on their property. Here you can see my Dad and me making our way to the spot where we took the photo for the book in front of a spring.

Misunderstood Welcomes You!

Misunderstood is a class for the a confident beginning quilter and beyond – if you can piece a half square triangle you can piece this! Color placement will encourage creativity and challenge all levels of quilters. Students will gain color confidence in this class.

What You’ll Learn

During this class, we’ll delve into the nuances of value, hue, and color placement. Gain insights into effective techniques for developing vibrant color schemes and simplifying block placement. Whether adhering to the provided pattern or venturing into your unique interpretation of Misunderstood, students are encouraged to apply the principles learned in class to their creations. We’ll also cover precision piecing for Flying Geese blocks.

Expectations for Students

My job is to teach you how to make this quilt. I expect students to speak up if I’m not clear. Chances are if you have a question, someone else does, too! I want to make sure all your expectations are met and you leave class with the depth of knowledge and confidence to complete this quilt once you return home.
