Metaphor
This quilt top began in 2017. The cut pieces were misplaced during a renovation in 2018 and found again in 2020. I didn’t pay attention to fabric placement when I picked it up again and the blocks didn’t fit together the way a traditional Log Cabin should. I decided to play around with haphazard block placement and Metaphor was born.

This class is accessible for all levels of quilters.
What You’ll Learn
In this class, we will delve into the art of color placement with scraps, exploring concepts such as hue and value, and we’ll discuss precision piecing with small pieces. Additionally, we’ll delight in the freedom of not worrying about which direction we piece our blocks so you can go home to create your very own version of Metaphor.
Expectations for Students
My job is to teach you how to make this quilt. I expect students to speak up if I’m not clear. Chances are if you have a question, someone else does, too! I want to make sure all your expectations are met and you leave class with the depth of knowledge and confidence to complete this quilt once you return home.
