AETHER QUILT
This class is for all levels of quilters.
Make an Orange Peel quilt without any curved piecing!
Piecing the Aether Quilt is simple but color placement is what makes this quilt shine. Orange Peels move from color to color, creating a rainbow that cascades across quilt, and the ombré background pieces bring it all together.
Class begins with a short lecture on how the quilt came together and why it works. We’ll chat about color placement, scale, hue and value, as well as different appliqué techniques so any level of quilter can create this quilt.
Students will spend the majority of their time working on fabric placement and design.
This is a full day workshop.

THERAPY AND METAMORPHOSIS
This class is for confident beginners to advanced quilters.
This Best of Show quilt is made using by repeating one block!
In this class we explore color and value and how using those two tools can create a dramatic quilt with a single block.
The primary background fabric is from one piece of ombre yardage. Students learn how to cut dark, medium and light values from the fabric in a specific manner to speed up the time to make this quilt while simultaneously creating drama and interest. The pops of color come from scrap fabrics.
If you know how to paper piece, or want to brush up on your paper piecing skills, this class is for you! You’ll learn some paper piecing hacks and leave class feeling confident in paper piecing skills and color placement.
Therapy and Metamorphosis won Best of Show in the East Cobb Quilters Guild 2022 Quilt Show.
This is a full day workshop.

Fine Tune Your Patchwork
Seams bulging? Points have you prickly? Strips not straight? There’s a remedy for all of that!
Spend the day walking through the fine points of piecing. Students will learn the basics of strip piecing before moving on to make foundational blocks. Along the way we’ll talk about math and as we progress you’ll learn how to take those basic blocks to create all your favorites like a Sawtooth Star or Drunkard’s Path.
Based on the best selling book, Piecing Makeover, you’ll learn all the tricks of the trade and leave class with a great depth of knowledge regarding piecing, trouble shooting, and problem solving.
