My mother taught me to sew as a child, and I started to quilt when I was 18. I left the zippers behind for a quilting needle and haven’t looked back.
Just before my oldest was born, my quilt, All Squared Up, was featured on the cover of the Better Homes & Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine. I’ve had work published in magazines, and on blogs for major fabric manufacturers.
I’ve been teaching classes at a local quilt shop for the past eleven years, including bias binding, paper piecing, classes on value, and Quilt Studio, a 4 hour window to get help on any project that has you stumped. I love helping quilters solve problems with their quilts.
When I’m not sewing, I’m busy with my family. I have three boys (40, 9, and 6). I love to cook. I hate to clean, and I hoard fabric.

Hi. In reading some of your previous posts, I saw your lovely quilt Mid Century Modern Quilt. I was wondering if you had a pattern for that one. I would love to make it as raffle quilt. It is so gender neutral and modern. I just love it.

I don’t have a pattern for this quilt. I searched mid-century modern quilt and found one on etsy. My husband liked it (yay!) so I made one for our bed. I wish I could help more! Get a lot of Kona (or whatever solid fabrics you like), vary strip size, and make sure you have one dominant line down the quilt, about 1/3 of the way to one side or another. It was so fun to make! Thank you for the response. I quests I will bust out the graph paper. Question what was the width of your smallest strip. I am curious how thin I could make my strips before they get lost. Thanks again.
I never replied. I am SO sorry! I should pay more attention! I have a few 1″ and 1 1/2″ strips. Most strips are 2″ and larger. Good luck with your project!
