Snowpocalypse 2011

We don’t get a lot of snow in Atlanta so when we have a “weather event” it’s a big deal. A very big deal. I think Atlantans could deal with the snow but we get snow, thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze and so forth. And snow tires, chains? Out of the question since we need them once a year at best. A half inch of ice over four inches of snow is ugly, as is the case with this storm. No one can drive in this. They think they can but they can’t. Cars and tractor trailers are stranded all over the city. Parts of major interstates are closed. Accidents are everywhere. We are at a complete and total loss of what to do when there’s ice on the road. So we shut down the city.

Which means….fun in the snow!

I snapped a few early morning photos

Followed by mid-morning frolicking with DL

After a quick bite and some hot chocolate we went to Freedom Park to go sledding with all our friends.

And at the end of the day our tired feet walked a half mile back to our places knowing that there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to make sure we can call Inman Park our home
